The South Bay is an astonishing area full of different species that you will want to mark down on your checklist. This tour perfectly combines birdwatching of land and sea species in Puerto Vallarta.

First, we will stop at Los Arcos to admire magnificent frigate birds, pelicans, blue-footed and brown boobies and other seabirds that make Los Arcos their home. Then, we will stop to enjoy a delicious continental breakfast before heading to our second stop: The Military Macaws Sanctuary, where we will witness the fruits of local initiatives that aim to preserve and recover these beautiful, yet endangered species. Nest to nest, we will spot different birds and dwell on the beautiful landscape while we admire the colorful macaws. This soft hike not only will allow you to capture beautiful pictures of the birds, but you will also learn about the conservation efforts.

Lastly, we will stop at Las Juntas and Los Veranos, aiming to spot forest birds like San Blas Jay, West Mexican Chachalaca, Golden-cheeked Woodpecker, Citreoline Trogon and many more. Before our tour comes to an end, we will sit down to count our victories by filling in our checklists while we enjoy some snacks.

Cruise Passengers:  Sorry, this might be too early for cruise ship schedules.

Runs:  Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays at 6:30 AM. This tour is seasonal and runs from October through July only.
