Q:
WHAT IS THE WATER TEMPERATURE IN PUERTO VALLARTA?
A: During the summer
months, the water is bathtub warm, approaching 85?F.
You often don't even need a wetsuit at all. During
the winter months, it cools down significantly, and you
often find temperatures dipping into the mid-to-high 60s
at the deeper locations.
If you're diving during the winter months, you'll want your
5mm wetsuit if you have one. A shorty won't keep you
warm. In the summer, a shorty is fine, or just a swimsuit,
depending on how deep you'll be diving.
Q:
WHAT IS THE VISIBILITY LIKE?
A: The best visibility
is found during the summer months, when visibility can reach
100-130 feet. During the winter months, you'll find
it to be about 40-60 feet.
Q: I'M ONLY DIVING
ONE DAY - WHICH SITE SHOULD I CHOOSE?
A: Tough one - depends
on your abilities and timeframe. For the average diver,
we recommend the Marietas Islands. There are dives
for all skill levels, and a huge variety of marine life.
If you're short on time, Los Arcos is the closest to shore.
If you're an experienced diver looking for pelagics, we
recommend El Morro.
Q: HOW MANY SCUBA
DIVERS TO A DIVEMASTER?
A: Maximum 6 divers
to a divemaster.
Q: I DON'T WANT TO
BE CROWDED - HOW MANY PEOPLE ON A BOAT?
A: We have two boats
in Marina Vallarta, a 10 passenger boat and a 16
passenger boat. We typically do not fill the
boats, and keep a very conservative 6 divers per
divemaster. The private and specialty dives are from a
10-passenger boat. Your dive experience is very
important to us.
Q: ANYTHING ELSE
I SHOULD KNOW?
A: On rare occasions,
it may be necessary for your divemaster to switch dive sites
due to issues with visibility or water conditions.
All dive shops in Puerto Vallarta reserve this right.
